Description
Collecting and burning pests and spreading their ashes is a common integrated pest management practice in biodynamic agriculture. The method of pest ashing (sometimes referred to as “peppering”) originates in the Agriculture lectures given by Rudolf Steiner in June of 1924. Steiner presents this method as an effective process for reducing pests that are proliferating beyond the manageable threshold on the farm and in the garden by working with planetary rhythms and spiritual influences. Join us on this new moon to make medicinal ashes to help bring harmony and balance to our land during the festival of Ascension and fertility. We will be making medicine from the varroa mite, small hive beetle, ticks, and the spotted lantern fly. Contact us if you have an insect that you’d like to add to the ashing list!
Please bring a lunch. Light snacks are provided.
