What do the honeybees need? How can the human being positively take part in the life of the honeybees? We will explore the attitudes and approaches that are central to the path of biodynamic beekeeping.
Session Two – November 18, 2026
The Hive as an Organism
Understanding the bees in their wholeness and seeing the parts as organs of a greater organism.
Session Three – December 2, 2026
Roundness, Warmth, and Scent
Exploring different hive bodies and how materials, shapes, and forms relate to the bees’ immune system, warmth, and hive scent.
Session Four – December 16, 2026
Working with Natural Wax Comb
Discovering the health benefits and organizational principles of wax creation, along with effective ways of allowing the bees to build their own natural wax comb.
Session Five – January 20, 2027
Working with Natural Queens
Who is the queen bee? How can we support her work and activities? We will explore methods for working with natural queens that arise within the hive organism.
Session Six – February 10, 2027
Celebrating Swarming
Working with swarming as the true birthright of honeybees and the natural way that hives reproduce.
Session Seven – March 3, 2027
What to eat?
Forage, Pollen, Nectar, Honey & Sugar
The honeybees and the land are a unity. We’ll look at how to provide the best bee forage and delve into nectar, pollen, honey, sugar, feeding, and nutrition.
Session Eight – March 17, 2027
Healing and Treatments
What treatments and healing remedies can we offer to support and strengthen the bees when they are in need?
